Andrei Kudryavtsev / Pages / General / How to change firmware in MMCS?

MMCS firmware is stored on the bootable cdrom MR285494 and uploads to the main unit each time after power lost. So, to change firmware you simply need to:
1. switch key to ACC
2. press eject cd button on the main unit
3. switch key to off, turn off power from battery
4. wait around 5 minutes
5. turn on battery, switch key to ACC
6. insert another cdrom
7. pass initialization of GPS(use stored waypoints)

Talking about firmwares - how did you convert the language over to russian from japanese. I have the same MMCS with the gps setup in the boot. Is the firmware on the cd itself. You have a really good site - I have spent days looking around for information about MMCS - my one came in japanese.

It seems like there are a lot of queastions but very few answers being offered here! I am in the same boat with my MMCS on my 1998 delica recently imported into Australia. To thise of you who say you have 'English' discs , what exactly is on them?? Do they contain English maps and does all the text come up in Eglish after it is loaded??Does it rectify the GPS errors on the compass???
Does anyone know if there ever was such a disc for Australia (circa 1998)? I know the Delica was never sold by Mitsubishi in Oz but the Pajero and Lancer were so surely they would have used the same system at that time?
Any answers would be welcome!
